Pontiac Car Models List

1926 was the year of establishment of Pontiac, an American car brand overtaking a popular General Motors subsidiary company, Oakland. It also replaced the Oakland’s factory and for its existence became a make for Chevrolet. Pontiac sales reached countries including Mexico, Canada, where they are the most popular, and the United States. Mainly, they are selling high performance vehicles.

Pontiac Official Logo of the Company

Unfortunately in 2009, General Motors decided to stop the production of the brand due to financial problems, and decided to end it by 2010. General Motors then continued the production of their core brands, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, and Buick. The last Pontiac cars were sold in December 2009.

Related Other US Automotive Company Lincoln Car Company

Pontiac started with the name of “The Pontiac Buggy Company” in 1893. Their first vehicle named “The Pontiac” was released on the fall of 1907. This vehicle weighs at around 1000 pounds and is a highwheeler mainly powered by a water-cooled two-cylinder 12 horsepower engine.

Until 1956, Pontiac has been using a Native American headdress as its logo. This was then updated after one year with an American red arrowhead. This is also known as the Dart. One main distinction of Pontiacs is their Silver Streaks – which are slender strips of stainless steel coming from down the middle of the hood extending to the grille.

Another Pontiac trademark is a split grille design, the “grilled-over” which are taillights in multiple strips, and their pointed arrowhead nose.

In 1946, Pontiac started investing on power and began working on their V8 engine. Supposedly, an L-head engine is the original plan to be made but due to incompetence of this engine when compared to the OHV Oldsmobile V-8, they decided to redirect to an OHV design.

A few more years after, Pontiac debuted a more powerful version of the V8. This engine was fully equipped with a powerful racing camshaft. They also installed 4-barrel dual carburetors to this model.

Pontiac Catalina

An iconic figure when it comes to hardtop vehicles, the Pontiac Catalina is an amazing ride that definitely stands the test of time!

Making a Statement

As one of the most popular hardtop rides during the 50’s, the Pontiac Catalina presents itself as not only a classy ride, but an affordable one as well.

Given the importance of having these sorts of vehicles to make an impressive statement during those years, the Catalina allowed motorists the chance of not only making a great impression – the car definitely has the right set of tools to manage any sort of problem one may encounter on the road during those days!

Retaining the Look

Throughout the remainder of its life, Pontiac made sure to keep up the consistent look of the Catalina’s tough (yet sleek) appearance. As such, motoring beauty has further expanded into a legend with Pontiac’s efforts, so much so that even with the discontinuance of this ride, collectors have marked the Catalina as one of the most attractive (and impressive) rides of its time.

All hail to the chief! The Pontiac Chieftain, as one of the latest automobiles released right after World War II, signified the coming of a brighter motoring era.

Beauty and Brawn

Built to last and designed to impress, the Pontiac Chieftain is a car that not only introduced impressive horsepower (for its time, which would be during the 50’s), but then impressive motoring innovations that delighted both motorists and passengers those years.

Perhaps as a precursor to infotainment (which was a delightful vacuum tube radio) features and passenger comfort facets (such as a tissue paper dispenser and seat warmers), the Chieftain definitely took on its namesake to lead cars among the pack during the yesteryears.

Marilyn Monroe, anyone?

Yet, perhaps, one of the most iconic images of the Pontiac Chieftain would be its picture with the legendary Marilyn Monroe. Now, doesn’t that mean a lot when it comes to a car?

Out of the ashes rises a beautiful and powerful beast of a vehicle. And when pertaining to compact (with a touch of muscle car power) vehicles, the Pontiac Phoenix is a great example of a car that exudes the power of the mythical creature.

What’s in a Name?

As a replacement to the Pontiac’s Ventura model, this rear-wheeled compact vehicle is indeed a vast improvement. Depending on the version, Iron Duke engines were outfitted in the Phoenix, providing an impressive oomph for motorists craving for the need of speed and power.

Those Awesome Days

In production during the years of 1977 to the early 80’s, the Pontiac Phoenix may be a good representation of a car that delivers in both quality and road performance.

Pontiac Torrents

By Bull-Doser – Own work, Public Domain, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=4174346

Get in the flow of the amazing power of the Pontiac Torrent. Released during the 2006 to 2009 years, this General Motors SUV is an amazing vehicle that can provide both class and power for lucky owners.

Budget Power

Perhaps what makes Pontiac Torrents such a hit those years is the affordability it has compared to its contemporaries. Versus its counterparts, such as the BMW X3, the Torrent can deliver the same (if not, even more) horsepower.

Best of all, the amount of power contributed doesn’t need to be expensive – the Torrent was way more affordable than other models in its category!

Star Quality

Given the appeal it has, it came as no surprise that the Pontiac Torrent has been in the spotlight on TV history. As one of the main prizes of the Survivor series (during the TV hit’s 2005 season or run), the car is more than enough reason for participants to work hard and win the games!

A Class of its Own

Citing the impact of the Parisienne, General Motors actually dropped this model with no replacement version at all. Perhaps of its reputation as both a trusted and appealing vehicle, the Pontiac Parisienne is a definite and unique car that truly has no comparison in the industry.

The Pontiac Grand Safari was a full-size station wagon produced by Pontiac from 1971 to 1978, standing out as one of the largest and most luxurious wagons of its time. Built on the same platform as the Pontiac Bonneville, the Grand Safari was known for its impressive size, spacious interior, and powerful V8 engines. It featured innovative design elements for a wagon, including the “clamshell” tailgate, where the rear glass slid into the roof and the tailgate retracted into the floor, offering easy cargo access.

With seating for up to eight passengers and plenty of room for luggage, the Pontiac Grand Safari was ideal for large families or road trips, making it one of the most versatile Pontiac models of its era. The wagon’s performance was equally noteworthy, with engine options ranging from a 400 cubic inch V8 to the powerful 455 cubic inch V8, providing strong acceleration and the ability to tow heavy loads.

Despite its discontinuation, the Grand Safari remains a memorable part of Pontiac’s legacy, reflecting the brand’s commitment to combining style, comfort, and performance in the Pontiac model lineup. Today, it’s a sought-after classic for enthusiasts of vintage American station wagons.

Chevrolet Car Models List

Chevrolet list of all car models in history

When someone says Chevrolet, you immediately think of the classic Corvette, which was first introduced in the early fifties. The first generation Corvette was instantly a hit among sports cars enthusiasts and generated a massive following. Originally launched as a show car, it went on to be one of the most popular model in the list of Chevrolet cars – up to today.

Chevrolet Official Logo of the Company

60 years after Chevrolet introduced the first Corvette Convertible, the company unveiled the 2013 427 Corvette Convertible, which they claimed was their “most powerful Corvette Covertible in 60 years.” The model was released as a Collector Edition and featured an Arctic White body with Pear Silver Blue racing stripes, and a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior. The sixth generation Corvette had a V8 engine and a 6-speed, automatic transmission.

Related Other US Automotive Company Chrysler

At present, Chevrolet holds the seventh generation Corvette as its flagship model. The C7 was launched in January 2013, production will start in September and delivery is slated to begin before 2013 ends. According to reviews, the 2014 Corvette is expected to be more fuel efficient because of is T1 6.2L Small Block V8 engine, which will also account for its increased maximum speed.

But for a car that’s priced at nearly quarter of a million pounds, fuel economy is perhaps not one of the most urgent concerns of the buyer. Visually, the 2014 Corvette is stunning-it has a split rear window reminiscent of the 1963 Sting Ray model, a total makeover of the interior and an improvement with the steering linearity. Overall, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette is definitely something to look out for this year.

Timeless Design

The Chevrolet Chevelle, produced by Chevrolet from 1964 to 1977, is an emblem of American automotive history, blending sleek design, powerful performance, and a touch of rebellious spirit. This mid-sized car, part of GM’s A-body platform, is renowned for its muscular stance, highlighted by its wide front grille, sculpted lines, and distinctive dual headlights.

Under the hood, the Chevelle offered a range of potent engines, from the robust 350 small-block to the legendary 454 big-block V8, making it a favorite among muscle car enthusiasts. Its interiors combined comfort with a sporty flair, featuring bucket seats, a driver-centric dashboard, and optional SS trim packages that enhanced both aesthetics and performance.

The Chevelle, particularly the SS 396 and SS 454 models, became icons of the muscle car era, celebrated for their raw power, acceleration, and the exhilarating roar of their engines.

Iconic full-size sedan that holds a special place in American automotive history, known for its spaciousness, smooth ride, and its role as a symbol of classic American luxury from the 1960s through the 1990s. One unique aspect of the Caprice is how it became a dominant figure in diverse fields—serving both as a family car and as a trusted workhorse in law enforcement and taxi fleets across the United States.

Originally introduced in 1965 as a luxury trim level for the Chevrolet Impala, the Caprice soon evolved into its own model line. What set the Caprice apart, especially in the late 1960s and 1970s, was its combination of high-end interior materials (woodgrain panels, plush upholstery) and advanced features for its time, such as power windows, air conditioning, and even optional 8-track tape players, all aimed at delivering a premium driving experience.

The Chevrolet Malibu is a nameplate with a rich history that spans several decades, showcasing the evolution of American automotive design and engineering. Introduced in 1964, the Malibu began as a trim level for the Chevrolet Chevelle, quickly gaining popularity and becoming a standalone model by the early 1970s. Over the years, the Malibu has adapted to changing consumer preferences, regulatory standards, and advancements in technology, establishing itself as a staple among car manufacturers in the midsize sedan segment.

Historical Overview:

First Generation (1964-1967):

The Malibu made its debut in 1964 as part of the Chevelle lineup. Initially offered as a two-door hardtop, it was marketed as a mid-range vehicle with a focus on comfort and style. This era showcased the classic American muscle car aesthetic, with options for powerful V8 engines that appealed to performance enthusiasts.

Second Generation (1968-1972):

The second generation saw the Malibu grow in size and luxury features. Chevrolet continued to promote it as a family-friendly vehicle while also catering to the performance market. During this time, the Malibu became increasingly popular, solidifying its place in the automotive landscape.

Third Generation (1973-1977):

The Malibu underwent a significant redesign in the 1973 model year. The focus shifted towards more fuel-efficient engines in response to the oil crisis. The introduction of new body styles, including a station wagon, expanded its appeal to a broader audience.

Fourth Generation (1978-1983):

The Malibu was completely re-engineered, adopting a smaller and lighter platform. This generation marked a shift in focus towards fuel efficiency and practicality, reflecting the changing needs of consumers during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Fifth Generation (1982-1983):

In the early 1980s, the Malibu was temporarily discontinued as part of a broader restructuring of Chevrolet’s lineup. However, the Malibu name would return in 1997, re-establishing itself in the midsize market.

Sixth Generation (1997-2003):

The Malibu was reintroduced as a completely new model in 1997, with a focus on modern styling and improved performance. It gained recognition for its spacious interior and safety features, appealing to families and daily commuters alike.

Seventh Generation (2004-2012):

This generation marked a significant transformation, with a more refined design and enhanced driving dynamics. Chevrolet aimed to position the Malibu as a competitive option in the midsize sedan market, competing with other car manufacturers like Toyota and Honda.

Eighth Generation (2013-Present):

The current generation debuted in 2016, emphasizing fuel efficiency, advanced technology, and connectivity features. The Malibu now offers a range of engine options, including turbocharged variants, appealing to a diverse audience seeking both performance and economy.

Conclusion:

The Chevrolet Malibu has evolved from a classic American muscle car to a modern midsize sedan, reflecting changing consumer preferences and advancements in automotive technology. Its long history illustrates the adaptability and resilience of one of Chevrolet’s flagship models, solidifying its position in the competitive landscape of car manufacturers.

The “Chevrolet Astrovette” is a nickname for a series of specially modified Chevrolet Corvettes driven by NASA astronauts during the Apollo program in the late 1960s and early 1970s. These cars hold a unique place in automotive and space history, symbolizing the intersection of America’s fascination with space exploration and high-performance automobiles. Here are some unique aspects of the Astrovette:

Astronaut Association: The Chevrolet Astrovette is famously associated with the Apollo astronauts, most notably the 1969 Corvette Stingray models driven by the Apollo 12 crew: Pete Conrad, Alan Bean, and Dick Gordon. Chevrolet provided astronauts with Corvettes as part of a special lease program, creating an enduring connection between the iconic sports car and America’s space heroes.

Distinctive Paint Schemes: The most famous Astrovette is a 1969 Corvette Stingray with a custom paint scheme designed by astronaut Alan Bean. It featured a distinctive gold and black color pattern with a unique red, white, and blue astronaut emblem on the side, symbolizing the American space program. This custom design made the Astrovette instantly recognizable and a collector’s dream.

Limited Edition and Custom Modifications: While not an official Chevrolet production model, the Astrovette Corvettes were customized to reflect the unique personalities and status of their astronaut owners. This included personalized features like custom paint jobs, interior modifications, and badges that celebrated their connection to NASA and space exploration.

Symbol of American Innovation and Prestige: The Astrovette represents a unique period in American history when the spirit of exploration and innovation was at its peak. Driving a Corvette, an American sports car icon, was seen as a fitting tribute to the astronauts who were boldly going where no man had gone before, blending the prestige of space exploration with the cultural cachet of automotive performance.

Pop Culture Icon: The Astrovette has become a cultural icon, symbolizing the 1960s space race era and America’s adventurous spirit. It has been featured in various documentaries, books, and media related to the Apollo missions, cementing its place in both automotive and space exploration lore.

Commemorative Value: Today, original Astrovette Corvettes are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts due to their historical significance and unique backstory. They serve as tangible reminders of a time when America’s best and brightest reached for the stars and did so in style, behind the wheel of a Corvette.

Association with Apollo 12’s Successful Mission: The connection between the Corvette and the Apollo program was further solidified when Apollo 12, the mission led by Pete Conrad, successfully landed on the moon. The Astrovette cars became a symbol of this success and the courage of the astronauts who ventured into the unknown.

Chevrolet’s Marketing Strategy: The collaboration between Chevrolet and NASA astronauts was a clever marketing strategy that highlighted the aspirational and performance-oriented nature of the Corvette. By associating the car with astronauts, Chevrolet positioned the Corvette as not just a car but a symbol of speed, adventure, and the pioneering American spirit.

The Chevrolet Astrovette remains a unique chapter in automotive history, combining the allure of high-performance cars with the inspirational story of America’s journey to the moon, forever linking the Corvette to the bravery and ingenuity of NASA’s astronauts.

Saab Car Models List

Saab Automobile AB is an automobile manufacturer from Sweden. It was founded in 1945 when its mother company, SAAB AB, started on creating a small automobile. Currently, Saab Automobile AB is inactive in the markets and production.

Saab Official Logo of the Company

The first model that was successfully finished under the Saab brand is the Saab 92 which was launched in 1949. After joining another company named Scania- Vabis, the Saab 900 was created. During that time, the Saab 900 was the best-selling model.

In 1989, the division of Saab-Scania which focuses on automobiles decided to restructure the company, hence Saab Automobile AB was founded. Matter-of-factly, General Motors, a giant in the automobile industry, bought half the company in 2000. They invested $600 Million for this and after some time, GM bought the whole company already.

Related Other Swedish Automobile Manufacturer Koenigsegg Cars

This made Saab Automobile as a whole subsidiary of GM. Ten years after, GM sold this division to Spyker Cars N.V., a Dutch vehicle manufacturer. Only a year after, Spyker Cars N.V. faced a bankruptcy issue when a Chinese association failed to purchase the whole subsidiary. GM then blocked the purchase to avoid the Chinese company from acquiring Saab Automobile.

In 2012, a new company named National Electric Vehicle Sweden bought Saab Automobile and carried it out of bankruptcy. After a year, Saab Automobile started manufacturing cars again, starting with the Nevs Saab 9-3. Unfortunately, NEVS was declined to continue the manufacturing under the Saab brand, and from then on, no more cars were made for the Saab branding.

Even though there were several transfers of the Saab brand, it became popular to the market. Under GM, they were able to pull out the units Saab 9-5, Saab 9-3 Sport Combi, and the Saab Aero-X. In the motorsport limelight, Saab was also able to compete in the Trans Am Series in 1966. They won several awards from their drivers including Tom Trana, Per Eklund, and Simo Lampinen.

Image Source: By Vauxford – Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=106100047

The Saab 900 is one of the most iconic models in the history of Saab, a Swedish car manufacturer known for its distinctive engineering and unique design. Produced from 1978 to 1998, the Saab 900 embodied the company’s focus on safety, innovation, and functionality. The 900’s reputation for reliability, quirky styling, and turbocharged performance set it apart from other cars of its era, making it a cult favorite that still enjoys a loyal following today.

Early Development and Launch (1978-1993):

The Saab 900 was introduced in 1978 as a successor to the Saab 99, sharing much of its predecessor’s platform but with significant improvements. Available in both sedan and hatchback variants, the Saab 900 stood out due to its unique, elongated front end, which was designed to accommodate the company’s turbocharged engines and enhance safety through better crash performance. This design became a hallmark of Saab automobile models.

In terms of engineering, the Saab 900 was innovative, featuring a front-mounted, longitudinally positioned engine. This was unusual for a front-wheel-drive car at the time. The 900 was also known for its strong emphasis on safety, with features like reinforced bumpers, side-impact protection, and a cabin designed to minimize injuries in a crash. These design decisions reflected Saab’s origins in aircraft manufacturing, where safety and precision were paramount.

Turbocharged Legacy:

One of the most defining features of the Saab 900 was its pioneering use of turbocharged engines. The 900 Turbo, introduced in 1978, played a critical role in bringing turbocharged technology to mainstream cars. At a time when most manufacturers were still focusing on naturally aspirated engines, Saab offered turbo engines that improved performance without sacrificing fuel economy.

The turbocharged Saab 900 models quickly became popular for their spirited driving experience, characterized by strong acceleration and excellent handling. The 900 Turbo also helped build Saab’s reputation as a “driver’s car”, combining practicality with performance. This focus on turbo technology set a trend for future Saab automobile models, which continued to innovate in this area.

The Convertible Revolution (1986-1994):

The Saab 900 Convertible, introduced in 1986, became one of the most recognizable variants of the model. At a time when convertibles were losing popularity due to safety concerns, Saab successfully reintroduced the format by engineering a robust rollover protection system. The 900 Convertible combined the sporty performance of the Turbo with the open-air freedom of a convertible, making it an instant hit, especially in the U.S. market.

This version of the 900 helped redefine the image of Saab, not just as a practical, safety-oriented brand but also as a manufacturer that could deliver fun and style. The convertible was often seen as a symbol of success and individualism, further enhancing the model’s appeal.

Second Generation (1994-1998):

In 1994, Saab introduced the second-generation 900, which was developed after General Motors (GM) acquired a 50% stake in the company. While the new generation was built on a platform shared with GM, it retained much of Saab’s distinct character. The second-generation 900 featured modernized styling, updated technology, and new engine options, including a V6. However, some purists felt that it lacked the quirky charm of the original 900 models.

Despite these concerns, the second-generation 900 continued to sell well, especially in Europe and North America, thanks to its blend of performance, safety, and comfort. The model was eventually replaced by the Saab 9-3 in 1998, marking the end of the 900 nameplate.

Legacy and Impact:

You think you’re cool enough owning a car? Well, you are a hundred folds cooler if you own one of the world’s most prized possession – a Mercedes-Benz.

This German automobile manufacturer is best known for their line of luxury vehicles of all sorts – cars, trucks, buses, and coaches. Their league started way back 1926 when the company was founded by Karl Benz, the first ever creator of a petrol-powered car.

Mercedes-Benz took the market by storm and later on created the 770 model – popularly known during the Nazi period in Germany. Adolf Hitler, the leader of the said period, had driven the 770 model as he was fascinated by its genuine power and its bulletproof windshields.

Quality has always been a standard to Mercedes-Benz as it gives credibility to their name. Owning a luxury vehicle is indeed a dream from decades ago until now and the company assures this commitment. That’s why in 2008, Mercedes-Benz ranked fourth on the J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study – coming from a huge improvement when they landed on 25th place in 2005.

A new naming convention to Mercedes-Benz vehicles were introduced in 2014. They have divided their vehicles into four categories – core, roadster, off-road vehicles, and 4-door coupe.

The company is also popular for a very simple and unique nomenclature when it comes to their core vehicles. They have divided them by classes – A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, G-Class, V-Class, and the Mercedes-AMG GT Class.

Environmentalism is also a concern for Mercedes-Benz. They have developed concept cars such as fully-electric, fuel-cell, and hybrid-electric powertrains. This trend of electric vehicles have already reached the company, most especially in 2007 when they introduced seven hybrid models, including a hybrid-electric drivetrain, the F700 concept car.

The Ferrari 550 is a grand tourer that holds a special place in Ferrari’s history, combining classic front-engine V12 power with modern engineering for the ultimate driving experience. Launched in 1996, the Ferrari 550 Maranello revived Ferrari’s tradition of front-engined V12 grand tourers, bringing back memories of earlier Ferrari models like the 365 GTB/4 “Daytona.”

Key Features of the Ferrari 550:

Powerful V12 Engine: At the heart of the Ferrari 550 is a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, delivering an impressive 485 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. This engine, mounted in the front, provides excellent balance and weight distribution, enhancing the driving experience. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of over 199 mph.

Classic Grand Touring Design: The 550 Maranello was designed with long-distance driving in mind, featuring a luxurious yet sporty cabin. The interior is upholstered in premium leather with a focus on comfort and style, while maintaining Ferrari’s racing DNA with features like the gated 6-speed manual transmission, which gives drivers full control over the car’s performance.

Balanced Performance and Comfort: Unlike some of Ferrari’s more track-focused models, the 550 Maranello was built to be both a high-performance car and a comfortable grand tourer. The double wishbone suspension and finely tuned chassis give it exceptional handling while also providing a smooth, comfortable ride on long journeys.

Sophisticated Aerodynamics: The Ferrari 550’s design was heavily influenced by aerodynamics, featuring a sleek and clean exterior that reduces drag and increases stability at high speeds. This design is a blend of Ferrari’s racing heritage and modern technology, ensuring both performance and aesthetic appeal.

Ferrari Heritage: As part of the line of Ferrari models with a front-engined V12, the 550 Maranello pays homage to some of the brand’s most iconic grand tourers from the past. It marked a return to this layout after years of mid-engine supercars, showing Ferrari’s versatility in mastering different configurations.

Evolution and Legacy:

The Ferrari 550 was succeeded by the Ferrari 575M Maranello in 2002, which carried many of the same design principles but with updated power and technology. The 550 also gave rise to the limited-edition Ferrari 550 Barchetta, a convertible variant produced in very small numbers for those who wanted an open-top experience.

In the context of Ferrari models, the 550 stands out as a significant car in the brand’s lineup, bridging the gap between Ferrari’s mid-engine supercars and the classic front-engine grand tourers. Its blend of power, luxury, and drivability makes it a beloved model among collectors and enthusiasts alike.

The Ferrari 550’s legacy lives on as one of the finest examples of a modern grand tourer, providing a perfect mix of Ferrari’s historic engineering excellence and modern driving performance.

More than a race car

The Ferrari 312 PB, a marvel of engineering and design, is a pinnacle achievement in the storied history of Ferrari’s involvement in prototype racing. Born out of the fervent competition of the early 1970s World Sportscar Championship, the 312 PB encapsulates the spirit of innovation and the relentless pursuit of speed that defines Ferrari’s racing legacy.

With its sleek, aerodynamic bodywork, the 312 PB is a visual representation of speed and agility. The car’s design, characterized by its low profile and the iconic Ferrari red, cuts through the air with precision, while its distinctive silhouette captures the essence of racing prowess.

Rimac Automobili: Cars that Make Croatia Proud

The future is bright when it comes to electric vehicles. With more companies from various industries taking the next step towards a cleaner and more efficient future for all, it comes as no surprise that car manufacturers would also make a clean shift towards electric motors. And one amazing car company making waves in the electric sports cars niche is the amazing Croatian brand, Rimac Automobili.

Rimac Automobili: Cars that Make Croatia Proud

The Start of the Electric Dream

The brand actually started as a hobby by founder, Mate Rimac. Seeing that his work on his BMW 3 conversion to an electric powertrain last 2007 caught the eyes of investors, Rimac decided to go full steam into creating a company that creates EVs. By 2009, Rimac Automobili was founded, with facilities rented care of the funds garnered from investors.

Rimac official logo of the company

Since then, Rimac Automobili continues to grow, to the acclaim of even the biggest names in the motoring industry. The prestigious Volkswagen group’s subsidiary, Porsche, partnered up with Rimac to help develop better electric motors in 2018. This merger proved that Rimac Automobili truly knows its way around the EV manufacturing business, with more achievements expected from this brand in the near future.

Models that Showcase the Electric Dream

Let us now check out the amazing vehicles that Rimac has created throughout the years:

Rimac Green Monster

The car that proved Rimac Automobili has got what it takes to make it big in the motoring scene, the Green Monster is a BMW E30 that broke records when it was first revealed in the public.

Dubbed as the Green Monster by Rimac designers, this car was actually an old model owned by Marc Rimac himself. Seeing that he can bring out the best out of this aging car (this particular automobile was released in the 1980s), Rimac converted this car into an EV model when its gasoline engine exploded. Constantly tweaking and improving the EV component of the Green Monster, Rimac discovered that his skills can actually be used to make a better car from scratch.

The Green Monster recorded the impressive of being the fastest accelerating vehicle in Category A, Group III, and Class. Able to hit 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, the Green Monster is truly a beast in the EV field. For an EV, able to have an output of 600 hp (900 Nm torque) and a top speed of 280 kph is truly amazing.

Rimac Concept One

Rimac Concept One

Image Source: By Croq – Own work, CC BY-SA 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=16540007

Come 2011, Rimac Automobili had another surprise that delighted the motoring public. Introduced during the Frankfurt Motor Show of that year, the very first automobile manufactured by Rimac Automobili showcased how the brand is a leading choice when it comes to EVs. Proving as well how Rimac Automobili focuses on quality, the Concept One had been released only in limited numbers, with 88 units initially announced, with the total shifted to 8 units – all sold, of course!

The production version of the Concept One primarily centers around the car’s battery and powertrain. Considering the push towards an all-electric vehicle, the Concept One doesn’t need any clutch functions or gear shift modes – the reaction time in this car model is instantaneous. In addition, the Concept One has a low center of gravity, mainly because the batteries of the car are located right under its floor with other heavy vehicle components.

Energy efficiency is excellent as well, with a full charge (which only takes just 30 minutes to juice the car up) can let the Concept One operate for at least 510 km. The Concept One’s battery is supplied by Sony, proving the efficiency of this power source.

Rimac Nevera Car Model

The Rimac Nevera is an electric hypercar that pushes the boundaries of performance and innovation in the automotive world. Crafted by Croatian automaker Rimac Automobili, the Nevera is designed to demonstrate the future of electric mobility, combining jaw-dropping speed, cutting-edge technology, and sustainable engineering.

Key Features:

Unparalleled Performance: The Nevera boasts an astonishing 1,914 horsepower, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.85 seconds. This makes it one of the fastest production cars in the world, rivaling even the most renowned hypercars. With a top speed of 258 mph, it breaks through the limits of what electric cars have traditionally been capable of.

Advanced Electric Powertrain: The car is powered by four electric motors, one for each wheel, which provides precise control and torque vectoring. This results in superior handling, making the Nevera not only fast in a straight line but also highly agile on the track.

Long-Range Capabilities: Despite its immense power, the Nevera doesn’t compromise on range. With a 120 kWh battery pack, it offers a driving range of up to 340 miles on a single charge, depending on driving conditions. The car also supports fast charging, allowing an 80% charge in under 30 minutes, making it practical for long-distance drives.

Innovative Aerodynamics and Design: The car features active aerodynamics that adapt to the driving style, optimizing downforce or reducing drag depending on the need. The exterior design is sleek and futuristic, with a strong focus on aerodynamics, enhancing both performance and efficiency.

Tech-Savvy Interior: Inside the Nevera, you’ll find a tech-forward cabin with customizable digital displays and luxurious materials. The driver-centric design ensures that all controls are easily accessible, and the user interface is intuitive.

Sustainability: As a fully electric vehicle, the Nevera is part of Rimac’s mission to create environmentally-friendly hypercars without sacrificing performance. This eco-conscious approach reflects the broader vision of Rimac all models, which prioritize sustainability alongside top-tier engineering.

Rimac All Models:
The Nevera is the flagship model, but Rimac all models showcase the brand’s dedication to high-performance electric vehicles. From the Concept_One, Rimac’s first production model, to the Nevera, each model represents a leap forward in electric hypercar technology, setting benchmarks for speed, range, and innovation.

The Rimac Nevera is a groundbreaking vehicle, combining electrifying speed with sustainability and next-level technology, embodying the future of hypercars.

Rimac Concept S

Rimac Concept S

Making its debut in the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the Concept S introduced several motoring enhancements and improvements from the already amazing Concept One. For starters, this car is lighter, yet more powerful under the hood. Making use of four efficient motors, the Concept S can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. Top speed has also been noticeably increased, with the Concept S going at an impressive 365 km/h.

The Concept S has a powerful 120 kWh that can go over for 400 miles. Additional tech-savvy enhancements found in the car is the facial recognition entry, lock, and ignition start. The Concept S also comes with 8 cameras for safety purposes.

Rimac C_Two

The second official release from Rimac Automobili is the Concept Two, which is officially called C_Two by the brand. Designed by popular Croatian designer, Adriano Mudri, the C_Two sports the amazing curves with a touch of masculinity that Rimac Automobili strives to have on its vehicles. A striking design facet that is readily seen would be the car’s doors – it uses butterfly types! The shift in design coincides with even more tech enhancements found in the C_Two, which the brand does call a vehicle that is alive with technology.

The C_Two is blazingly fast, with a recorded top speed of 415 km/h. Additionally, this hypercar can go from 0 to 97 km/h in just 1.85 seconds. The C_Two has also been enhanced, making this a hypercar that can be driven aggressively with no fear of breaking apart. This car also comes with the popular facial recognition tech found on the Concept S. More advanced driver assist tech enhancements have been integrated into the C_Two, which does make this car a breeze to drive!

Battery power, as expected, is awesome in this hypercar. Full charge is capable of as little as 30 minutes. Production, with quality still as a prime objective, is still limited. The brand does plan to release more models, just as soon the Covid-19 pandemic has subsided. Also, the C-Two comes with a handy fire extinguisher in extreme cases of fires and the like.

Go Croatia; Go Rimac Automobili!

Rimac Automobili proves it has the right stuff when it comes to creating fast and stylish hypercars. We hope that you get the chance to take these cars out for a spin! Or, try visiting Croatia to take a glimpse on these wonderful automobiles!
